Senior Process Engineer

Berlin, Germany

Your role

As a Senior Process Engineer, your practical, hands-on experience in commissioning, testing, or repairing process equipment will be invaluable as you collaborate closely with our development team (mechanical and automation engineers) and our CTO, Silvain. Together, you will design, develop, and commission our systems in our Berlin facility and at customer sites. You will work alongside process and chemical engineers to optimize our processes for manufacturability and assist with hands-on prototyping. Additionally, you will provide technical specifications to our partners and suppliers to support the manufacture and installation of our products.

What you will do

  • Support the development of detailed P&IDs, lead HAZOPs, and specify equipment and instrumentation requirements, ensuring
compliance with industry standards and best practices for fluid-based processes subject to thermal and pressure cycling.
  • Play a key role in deploying our novel DAC systems by supervising assembly, conducting FAT at our facilities, and performing
SAT at customer sites to ensure reliable operation.
  • Provide in-depth designs, specifications, and feedback for manufacturing and assembly to ensure that our designs are cost-efficient,
robust, and capable of delivering high-quality results at scale.
  • Approach work with an open mind and flexibility, thriving in an environment of rapid learning and adjustment.
  • Get creative to rapidly troubleshoot, improve, and validate upgrades and fixes for our prototypes and products.
  • Manage projects, including the development and construction of pilot plants, while overseeing resources
(time, personnel, budget) and optimizing project management processes.

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Process Engineer or in a similar role for large industrial fluid-based projects with strict
    development timelines.
  • Experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of industrial mechanical systems and their processes, with a focus
    on manufacturability at scale.
  • Practical experience in sizing and selecting valves, instruments, fittings, and pumps, ideally for thermal vacuum applications.
  • Experience working with industrial suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • A strong technical foundation in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and gas/vapor processes.
  • Experience managing the development and construction of process pilot projects valued €5 million is a plus.
  • A strong intrinsic motivation to tackle the climate crisis.

What you will get

  • Work within an early, fast-growing ClimateTech startup located in Berlin.
  • Flat hierarchy and a highly motivated team.
  • An English-speaking environment.
  • Self-managed working hours, including partial remote options.
  • Flexible holiday arrangements.
  • Regular informal team events.
  • Equity plan.
